Ahhhh beer brats, a couple beers, and a baseball game.... doesn't get any better! And on the upside, this is ridiculously easy to make. If you can operate the stove and grill you will do just fine. And just so we are clear; when I say brat, I am talking bratwurst here, not the neighbor's kid.
Ingredients
- 5 or 6 pack of brats (fresh is always better than precooked)
- A couple of your favorite beers (probably 2)
- Hot dog buns
- Chopped onion
- Sauerkraut
- Mustard
Directions
- Get a pot or sauce pan, pour both beers in, and put it on the stove on medium-high.
- Drop in the brats and boil these bad boys for 15 minutes or so. If they aren't 100% cooked that is fine, the grill will finish it up but you want it almost done.
- Now this is the important step. Bring the pot WITH the beer & brats out to the preheated grill. You still need the beer.
- Slap the brats on the grill for a few minutes on one side. BEFORE you turn them over pick them up and put them back in the beer mixture to soak up some more beer THEN put them back on the grill.
- Repeat that as many times as you want, it helps the brats from drying out, as well as making them taste great.
- Once browned to perfection, take them off the grill, drop them in a bun, and cover them with chopped onions, sauerkraut, and lots of mustard.
- Enjoy, for you are man.
